Caper berries are the fruit of the caper bush. The caper berry is dark olive-green in color and has a firm texture. Its taste resembles that of a mild caper. Used in hot, cold, cooked or raw dishes, carper berries brighten up any food. Capers add a burst of piquancy to seafood dishes and tomato sauces. Although they are packed with the stem on, it is not eaten.
