Serbian Easter Egg Decorations 1 pack (set varies) for 10 eggs
The Easter Egg Project came out of an initiative to revive the tradition of Serbian arts and crafts. By referencing the motifs of Serbian medieval wall paintings, a contemporary classic has been born, an Easter egg that celebrates Serbian cultural heritage and the traditions of Orthodox Easter.
The motifs used for decorating the Easter egg have have been cherished for centuries within the walls of Serbian medieval monasteries on the territories of the old Serbian states. Taken down from the walls of 36 monasteries, six themed collections have been produced and classified by territory: Kosovo and Metohija, Morava School, Ohrid Heritage, Old Raska, Old Serbia and Zeta.
The product consists of 10 decorative wrappers for decorating eggs and is produced in 6 different sets. The whole collection comprises a total of 60 different motifs. These are printed on a plastic shrinking foil which is harmless when in contact with food, and it is inedible. Each motif is to be cut separately, placed on a previously boiled and cooked egg then dipped into a pot of boiling water for a few seconds for the wrapper to shrink around the egg.
